Shambammshaggawaggabammbamm...
Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 05:34AM 3 New hairs this week... I am doing a side project as well at the moment which is taking some of my time so I apologise for just 3 but I will crack a whip on my butt for next week promise.
Lag,lag and more lag having some issues at the Truth Hair sim... I am so grateful that it is uber busy but trying to manage the lag at the moment has got me down, I really want people to have a great user experience so I am seeking some solutions to help... if my latest solution doesn't work which should be implemented over the next few weeks then shopping nude will be the only option... which I am more than happy to do myself but often people find this offensive... I don't even have a peen, I know I know the ken mound is scary. MOVING ON!

All great styles as usual, I wish you'd work on not putting such a drain on my finances as well as the sim lag issues! lol
But in all seriousness as for the lag I'd like to make some suggestions...try not using all high res textures for the build and displays as well as use less sculpties. While they look wonderful they create a heavy load on the server and a high lag situation for people with older computers...even someone like me with 2 year old core 2 quad, 4gb of ram and a 1024 video card and physics accelerator can barely move if I go to your sim and usually crash if I'm there for more than 10 minutes. That just shouldnt happen, when I have a very decent machine built for gaming and high res graphics.
Also I know you want to have your sims next to each other so people can wander about but placing them in a checkerboard pattern as stand alone sims will help as well. Even though people are on the other sims, they're still drawing power from the others around it because they're considered "child avatars" if they have their draw distances up high enough, they're still rendering the other sims, so someone in the clothing shop sim is still able to see the hair sim.
Now granted its not all your builds etc as I've mentioned above, the ladies who love your hair are usually scripted up the wazoo and dont know any better. I know alot of people feel the solution to that is blocking the use of personal scripts with land features and I'm no techie but I feel that turning scripts OFF should only be done to combat a current griefing situation (having worked in the land business for nearly 3 years it does come in handy for that). I think turning them off causes items to try to run anyway because you're not physically disabling anything and therefore causing an overload of sorts, sometimes it can even be seen because AO's will still be working but never change pose after entering the sim. Its the same for anything else thats scripted, clothing resizers, color changers, etc. All still attempting to run but unable to, essentially causing more strain because of it.
Anyway just my 2 cents, I hope it helps, I want to be able to enjoy shopping at your sim Truth & so do many other people!!! We just want to be able to do it without having to spend 3 grand on a new computer! lol
Never let a peen get in the way when it comes to lovely hair i say! (yes, i do know that sounds very very wrong)
@ Kier Thanks for the advice... I have taken all that onboard and should have a resolve in 2 weeks or so.
@ Leeloo sounds very normals to me :P
I am NOT naughty! (nottalking) :P
Yes, I have the same problem in my region - lag monster, people complaining, sometimes I can barely walk at my store, specially on new release days. Someone told me its in part cuz I have mega prims composing walls and floor - colliders. I need to rebuild the store then. Well I really have to find a solution and urgently!
Amazing hairs as usual ! I love them all.
